Introducing ‘LAO-MKE: Untold Stories’

MARN is excited to present “LAO-MKE: Untold Stories”, an exhibition open from July 14 – July 30, 2023, which celebrates personal accounts from multi-generational Lao families in the pursuit of finding a place to call home. This exhibition comprised of photos, cultural artifacts, objects and an array of artwork highlights the stories of refugees from Laos and the journey to make Milwaukee and Wisconsin their home.

LAO-MKE presents crucial stages of the Lao experience in Wisconsin. It invites visitors to contemplate ideas of “home” as seen through the eyes of people for whom home can spark memories of trauma and uncertainty, and for those who have lived or are still living between two worlds.
